What we do with the details you give us, in plain English. Short version: we use them to quote and do the work, we don't sell them, and you can ask us to delete them.
Who we are
TapFix Emergency Plumbing is a sole trader providing emergency and general plumbing services, based at 59 Vernon's Close, Henham, Bishop's Stortford CM22 6AF. For anything relating to your personal data, contact hello@tapfixstansted.com or call 07858 117024.
What we collect
When you submit the quote form we collect your name, phone number, the area you're in, how urgent the job is, the type of work if you choose one, whatever you tell us about the problem, and the date and time you sent it. If you call or email us we keep a record of that contact and the job it relates to. Like any website, our hosting provider also records basic technical information about each visit, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver and secure the site. We do not collect payment details through this website.
How the quote form works
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. When you press send, your answers pass through our website on Vercel and are emailed to us at hello@tapfixstansted.com by our email delivery service, Resend. A copy may also be kept in the system we use to manage enquiries. These providers act only on our instructions as our data processors and may process data in the United States; those transfers are covered by their data processing terms. The form includes an automatic check to filter out spam.
Why we use it
Solely to respond to your enquiry, quote for the work, carry out the job and keep the records a business must keep. The lawful bases are performance of a contract (or steps before entering one) and our legitimate interest in running the business. We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that make the website and our email work, acting on our behalf, and anyone we are legally required to share it with — for example HMRC for tax records. We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not pass it to lead-generation companies.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't become jobs, including the emailed copy, are deleted within 12 months. Records of completed work are kept for six years, which is the period HMRC requires for business records.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and sets no cookies. If that ever changes, we will update this notice first and ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies are used.
Your rights
You have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased where we have no ongoing need for it, to restrict or object to our use of it, and to ask for a copy in a portable format. Email hello@tapfixstansted.com and we will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
